An Elephant Balanced

Knock knock knock

"Have you gone to bed yet, honey?" she whispered as she laid her head upon my forehead. The cold sting of her white-gold wedding ring pierced the skin above my right eyebrow; it oddly felt good - comforting even.

"No mami I haven't," I said.

"It's 10 pm, you should go to sleep. Why don't I sing you that song you like hmm?"

"The one about the elephants?"

"That's the one."

"Okay"

Golden thread swam through the air. It twirled in circles, up and down, left and right until finally, it reached my ears. Its warmth, like that of the sun, warmed my body to complete relaxation.

I slept very well that night.
